Ines Lozano's love of words drove her to make a u-turn in 2019 to return to school and complete her bachelors with a degree in marketing. But from her earliest childhood days, writing stories had been a dream of hers. Ines writes young adult romances that center messy protagonists living their perfectly imperfect lives and heartwarming picture books that make her laugh out loud while she's drafting them. When not plotting her next novel, Ines works as a Regional Marketing Manager for a K–12 curriculum publisher and as Communications Manager for the Latinx Kidlit Book Festival. You can also find some of her writings in Parents Magazine where she has proudly turned moments of personal growth into (hopefully) helpful anecdotes for parents. 

 

Growing up, Ines was raised to value family, culture, and hard work. Weekends were often booked with family gatherings full of laughs, food, and music. It was at one of these many get-togethers where Ines made the decision to turn her passion for writing into a reality and found the ever present encouragement to go after that dream. And it is the humble memories of those family gatherings that fill the pages of the stories she creates. 

 

A native Long Islander, Ines still calls it home, sharing her life with her daughter and their dog (nicknamed Pollo for, among other reasons, his irrational fear of everything from vacuum cleaners to his own shadow, and his boundless love for all things chicken-related). The trio loves making beautiful memories with friends and family, whether it's at barbecues, holiday gatherings, or those spontaneous moments like impromptu dance parties in the living room.
